The Monster Triathlon 2018 was a great success and staff across Tullow Oil got involved by holding their own Monster Week. Across the seven days (1st July – 7th), staff aimed to swim, cycle and run the equivalent of 14,000km, which is the distance between the Dublin, Chiswick, Accra, Libreville, Kampala, Nairobi and Cape Town offices.

I hope you will join us in saying a huge congratulation to the Tullow Oil teams who collectively covered over 19,000km, a greater distance then travelling from London to New Zealand! Wow. They also smashed their fundraising target raising over $100,000 which will be split between their four chosen charities, Sabre Education, Water Aid, Save the Children and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Monster ambassadors did an amazing job coordinating all the activities across the organisation with 36% of the entire company taking part in the Monster Week. Not forgetting Tony Griffiths and Nick Moorhouse who completed the full Monster Triathlon from Loch Ness to London!

We love the creative ideas the teams came up with to cover the kilometres, such as taking on 110km ‘Iron Monster’ triathlon, rowing a dragon boat whilst on holiday and even getting teams out on the Maersk Venturer rig offshore Ghana involved and tackling 45km in the 40 degree heat and mountains of Islamabad, an inspiring effort from everyone involved.

We really cannot thank you all enough and we continue to be amazed and inspired!

Together we really can build a brighter future for school children in Ghana.
