We are delighted to share that Sonya Hinton, our amazing Education Advisor, was one of the runners up in the 2019 Times/Sternberg Active Life Award. The award recognises individual’s contribution to society made after their 70th birthday, and Sonya’s commitment to Sabre’s work, all on a voluntary basis, made her a very strong contender.

The award ceremony was held at Downing Street on a glorious sunny day where Baroness Altmann presented Sonya with her prize. It was wonderful to hear Sonya’s story of her work with Sabre shared with the distinguished guests, along with the equally admirable stories of the other runners up and winner.

A huge congratulations to Sonya. We would not be able to do what we do without her!
