On the 16th September the Monster Triathlon kicked off with a 5km swim in Loch Ness, continued with a 550 mile cycle from Fort William to Marlow, and finish on Friday 23rd September with a 45 mile run along the Thames from Marlow to Teddington

Our amazing Monsters successfully completed their epic triathlon and all enjoyed a well deserved BBQ at the finish line to celebrate their incredible achievements. It was great to bring the Relay Team, who completed the triathlon in just 48 hours and 9 minutes as a continuous relay, and the 8-day Monsters back together to share the stories of their journeys from Loch Ness to London.

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who came out to support the Monsters along the route and to everyone who took part in the 5 mile Fun Run and VouchedFor who entered a team of 24 runners. Having you all join the fun run was great motivation for the Monsters to get through those final few miles. The Anglers in Teddington was the perfect place to end a pretty special week, and they put on an amazing spread for all of our hungry athletes!

Not only have the Monsters proven they are a truly special bunch by completing this huge physical challenge, but they have also raised a phenomenal amount of money, which will allow for the construction of two district Model Kindergarten Schools in the Central Region of Ghana. The teams target was to raise £120,000 and they have absolutely smashed that with the current total standing at £183,621.79.

If you would like to support our Monsters their fundraising page is still open so please visit https://mydonate.bt.com/events/monstertriathlon2016.

A huge thank you to all of the Monsters who made last week unforgettable and have helped to improve the education that thousands of young Ghanaians will receive. #StepsforChange
