The construction at New Bakanta Model Kindergarten School is heading rapidly for the completion deadline of mid-October.

The kitchen is almost complete, the slab for the toilets is done and the roof is on the main building. The site team have even been planting local plants in the biodiversity area.

You can also see in the images below, the resources used to insulate the classroom roof. Hardwood shavings, a waste product from the roof truss fabrication, are packed into mosquito nets and fixed to the roof. This provides sound insulation, to shield against the very disruptive noise of heavy rain. The insulation also helps to keep the classrooms cool by absorbing heat.

Site Engineer Kofi Sarso Ampaabeng, is very proud of his colleagues who have really come together to form a good team, working hard to meet the deadlines for the project.
