I have decided that this is the right time for me to transition on from my role with Sabre, both for me personally, and more importantly for the organisation. As you can imagine, having been involved with Sabre since its founding promise in 2000, this was not a decision I took lightly. Following our recent strategic review, which showed just how fantastically Sabre is positioned to scale our impact, I realised that a CEO who can commit to the role full time and be able to travel more frequently, will be better able to support Sabre to deliver on these ambitions.
After an extensive recruitment process, I can now share the fantastic news that our Board of Trustees has appointed Susan Place Everhart as Sabre Education’s new Chief Executive Officer. Susan will join us on 1st July and I am committed to doing all I can to ensure a seamless transition, both during July and in any way required thereafter.
Susan joins us from Orchid Project where she has served as Chief
Operating Officer since 2016. Prior to that, Susan held a number of Executive Leadership positions in both international development and private sector organisations, working in Japan, the United States, China and Haiti, as well as supporting community initiatives in East and West Africa. Susan has also held several board positions.
Susan brings deep international development experience on women and girls’ issues and social change, education leadership experience from serving on academic boards, and extensive strategic and coaching experience from working with a variety of global corporations.
Susan has a strong passion for education and international development, and an outstanding track record in building strong high performing teams and clear capabilities to help us scale our impact.
We are all excited about what Susan will bring to Sabre and her capacity to lead and build the organisation through the next phase of growth and development.
