The mentees (student teachers) from OLA College of Education left their school placements on the 10th July, to sit their end of year exams. The mentees have spent the last year enrolled on our Transformational Teacher Training programme. To prepare them for their year as Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs), and to celebrate their accomplishments, a Mentee Moving on Meeting was held at OLA Assembly Hall.
On the first day, the mentees heard from NQTs who were on the programme last year and are now successfully implementing the programme in her own classrooms. This showed the mentees just how much they can also achieve as well as giving them valuable time to ask questions. The mentees also had a chance to share their best practices with each other, and some amazing ideas were presented. The two-day Mentee Moving on Meeting ended with a wonderful celebration including a video looking back on their training, a delicious buffet, and of course some dancing.
We wish the mentees the best of luck as they head out to implement activity based learning in their own classrooms!
