The Transformational Teacher Training team in the Central Region organised a successful sensitisation exercise in the Twifo Atti-Mokwa District in the Central Region.

These sensitisation exercises have been designed to create awareness of the Fast-track Transformational Teacher Training (FTTT) programme in the districts which are not benefiting directly from the programme but which have received Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) from OLA College of education and Holy Child College of Education. These NQTs have completed their one year training in the FTTT and are expected to implement their learnings in the schools they have be posted to.

The sensitisation brought together 21 participants from Ghana Education Service, including the Assistant Director of Supervision, Kindergarten Co-ordinator, Human Resource Manager, Circuit Supervisors, head teachers and two NQTs who attended to share their successes and challenges in the implementation of the programme.

The Assistant Director of Supervision encouraged the head teachers to provide the needed support to enable the teachers to implement the FTTT programme. The Assistant Director said the education directorate would not let the skills the teachers have acquired on the FTTT programme go waste, they will therefore provide them with the needed support.

The team were thrilled to have this support from Ghana Education Service and the head teachers of the schools that the NQTs have been placed in, this is vital for the successful replication of the FTTT programme.
