This month we couldn’t pick just one teacher of the month in the Central Region, instead we have an amazing team of four teachers from Jacob Wilson Sey Kindergarten. Lolo, Harriet, Ayeley and Mercy have displayed exceptional commitment and enthusiasm in their implementation of the Fast-track Transformational Teacher Training (FTTT) programme, and they are some of the most creative teachers on the programme.

Their school suffered significant damage when their classroom was flooded as a result of a bad storm destroying their roof, yet they have not let this slow them down and their classrooms continue to perform to an exceptional standard.

It has been a great worry for us since 2012 when we noticed that our pupils’ reading ability was very poor. Since then we have been hoping for in-service training that will equip us with skills to improve their reading ability and general performance.

So when the Fast-track Transformational Teacher Training programme came our way we grasped it with everything we have. Our motivation is to give our children a good foundation and also to raise their reading performance.

After being on the programme for a while, we realised that the performance of our pupils was improving- our zeal and commitment increased despite the challenges because we hope to achieve our final objective.

Finally, we hope to see our school structure repaired so we won’t have to repack our learning materials each day for fear of rain or remake new ones all the time.”

The FTTT team would like to say well done to Lolo, Harriet, Ayeley and Mercy for their commitment and dedication. Keep up all of your amazing work!
