On Monday, Katie, our Central Region Teacher Training Projects Manager, had her last lunch with the trainers from OLA College of Education. The Programme Co-ordinator, Mrs. Rose Buah-Bassuah, delivered a heart-warming farewell message on behalf of all the trainers.

On Tuesday, Sabre founder and trustee, Aubrey, arranged a fantastic send-off party which brought everyone together to say farewell.  The Cape Coast Educational Director attended and presented a gift to Katie. The Transformational Teacher Training team also presented a traditional Ghanaian smock and a citation of appreciation.

Here is an extract: “You’ve got a winner’s attitude. Of course! You are a winner! Your desire and willingness to serve fueled our mutual efforts and led us to success. Your personal commitment to excellence has inspired others to push past mediocrity. Your dedication has shown that one can’t ride an elevator to success but can only take steps, one at a time.”

After the presentation Nick, our Programme Director, and Aubrey delivered their send off messages and Katie shed a few tears during her speech!

Our team in Ghana will really miss Katie and wish her the very best for her next steps and new role. Here are some more photo’s of Katie’s last days in Elmina!
