This summer we commissioned Blackmor Studios to produce a documentary about our Fast-track Transformational Teacher Training programme in response to a request from the Ghana Minister of State for Tertiary Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah. The Minister attended OLA College of Education 2017 Graduation ceremony in May this year, along with the Central Regional Minister Kwamina Duncan, and Senior Minister of the Republic Ing. Yaw Osafo-Maafo. The graduation ceremony was held for the student teachers who had completed their Diploma in Early Childhood Development in July 2016 and have been posted as Newly Qualified Teachers in their own classrooms.

Our Country Director Jon Beaulieu gave the Minsters a tour of OLA Kindergarten Centre of Excellence, a Sabre built safe sustainable kindergarten complex, built on the OLA College of Education campus. The Ministers were all so impressed with what they saw, and Professor Kwesi Yankah requested more information on our work with OLA College of Education so that he could brief the Minister of Education on what he observed first hand.

We are delighted to share the resulting documentary below, which outlines the origins of the Fast-track Transformational Teacher Training Programme, our work with OLA College of Education and details of the training content and a typical day in kindergarten. Interviews with stakeholders, including College of Education Tutors, Head teachers and Ghana Education Service Officers also feature in the documentary.

The documentary was launched in Ghana on the 10th October at the Early Childhood Education Dissemination Event.
