The Fast-track Transformational Teacher Training (FTTT) team in the Central Region recently carried out support visits to all of the 40 classrooms on the FTTT programme over three days last week. The exercise was carried out by the FTTT team plus seven trainers from OLA College of Education.

During the exercise, each team of two spent three hours in each classroom to see how they are getting on with the implementation of all aspects of the programme. These support visits also allowed the team to see how teachers were getting on with the implementation of the new themes, My Home My Community in KG1 and My Country Ghana in KG2.

The trainers spent the first hour observing the classrooms, which allowed them to identify the areas in which the teachers needed support. The remaining time was then used to provide coaching and support to the teachers.

This more in depth monitoring allows the teachers to get individual support over a longer period of time than the usual monthly Spot Checks allow for. It was a successful exercise and we are confident that our excellent team of trainers, with the support of the FTTT team, provided the very best of support.
