The Transformational Teacher Training (TTT) team in the Central Region had another successful sensitisation meeting last week for Assin South and Assin North Districts. The aim of these meetings is to create awareness of the TTT programme in the districts which are not benefiting directly from the programme but have received Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) from OLA College of Education. These NQTs have completed their one year on the TTT programme.

Last week’s exercise brought together 25 participants from Ghana Education Service, including the Assin North Municipal Director of Education, two kindergarten Co-ordinators, two Human Resource Managers, Circuit Supervisors, head teachers and four NQTS.

Two of the NQTs were invited to share with the participants their successes and challenges in the implementation of the programme. The Ghana Education Service Officers promised to help overcome their challenges and assist them so that they can fully implement the programme. The Director of Education vowed to visits the classrooms of the teachers and provide them with the needed support.

These meetings are of great importance as gaining the support of Ghana Education Service officers and the schools that the NQTs have been placed in is vital for the successful replication of the programme. All of the participants could not stop thanking the team for sharing their knowledge.

We are incredibly excited to share that, as a result of the previous sensitisation meeting, Agona West District organized a two day workshop for kindergarten teachers from 50 private schools. The workshop was facilitated by the three NQTs posted to this district and was a huge success. The TTT team is incredibly proud of the great work these NQTs are doing and medaase pa pa pa (thank you very much) to Dora Frimpong and her colleague for sharing all of their TTT knowledge!
