The two year Fast-track Transformational Teacher Training programme for teachers, head teachers and Ghana Education Service officers which started in September 2015 in both the Central and Western Regions came to an end last Friday. The programme has trained 198 teachers, head teachers, Ghana Education Service Officers and 339 student teachers.

A ‘Closing Ceremony’ was arranged to formally mark the end of the two year programme and to celebrate the hard work and commitment of the teachers, head teachers and Ghana Education Service officers. In addition, the ceremony was an occasion to officially handover the sustainability of the programme to Ghana Education Service and schools.

The ceremony was a fantastic occasion attended by all the beneficiaries of the training programme from both regions as well as Holy Child and OLA College of Education principals.

Also in attendance were four Education Directors, Stephen Richard Amoah, Cape Coast Director;  Abedu Edzie Adentwi, KEEA Director; Peter Ackah Blay,  Jomorro and Nzema East Director and Frances Mabel Williams, Ellembelle and Ahanta West District Director.

The guests were entertained by beautiful songs from the OLA College of Education students’ choir, and with a role play of one of the kindergarten oral stories ‘Kofi and the Hungry Lion’

The directors of education all gave speeches, vowing their unwavering support to the sustainability of the best practices they have seen in their schools.

Sabre’s Managing Director Dominic Bond was also in country and gave a speech at the event.

The day ended with a presentation of certificates to teachers, head teachers and Ghana Education Service officers.

To all the participants we say ayekoo! well done!
