The Fast-track Transformational Teacher Training (FTTT) team in the Central Region held its second Teacher Monitoring Tool (TMT) meeting this week, which was attended by 14 Ghana Education Service officers (GES). The TMT is a carefully developed tool that is used to monitor the progress of the teachers, and covers all areas of the programme. It is completed once a term by the FTTT team in conjunction with GES officers. This allows the team to train up the GES officers in the completion of the TMT so that they are able to continue to use it for their monitoring once the teachers’ two years of training is finished.

During this meeting, the results of last terms TMT administration were shared with the GES officers, who were all amazed to see the excellent progress the teachers have made since the start of their training. The officers were taken through the individual items on the TMT to improve their understanding of each area. Another important area discussed was how to objectively fill in the TMT, a key skill for effective monitoring.

We are looking forward to completing this terms TMT with the GES officers over the next few months.
